Why a Grand Welsh Pick?
The throwaway culture and lack of wild habitats for animals across the world have never been so serious as it is now! The plastic issues, especially with single use plastics, is one of the biggest environmental issues the modern world faces.
As landfills are getting increasingly full the overspill of plastic is seen everywhere in the natural world. We must act now!
So, one of the challenges we have set for a Grand Week in Wales 2023 is to collect 1000 bags of litter #GrandWelshPick
What is the Grand Welsh Pick challenge?
We are looking for your help to collect bags of litter across Wales and do your part in cleaning up the global mess. Bags must be bin bag size or larger.
Green Paw Project and One Global Ocean aim to run and connect litter picking groups around Wales to achieve our goal of picking and collecting 1000 bags of litter over the week from 1st of June.
The Grand Welsh Litter is a joint project where other organisations are involved from all over Wales. The two main partnering organisations are Green Paw Project and One Global Ocean.

Joining our #grandwelshpick challenge couldn’t be easier!
Once you have picked your litter/plastic just click the button below and fill in the form with how many bags you have collected and which part of Wales you are from.
We also encourage you to take photos of yourself completing your litter pick which we will then share on our social media pages and website.
All you need to do now is set yourself a target and get as many people involved as possible. You could also use this as an opportunity to fundraise for Nanny Biscuit or a local charity of your choice.
All monies raised for A Grand Week in Wales are distributed in the following way
20% to Nanny Biscuit to combat food poverty, isolation and loneliness, with the remainder evenly distributed between our brilliant national partner organisations
